Village Action Plan (VAP) Development

This stage covers the state-wide rollout of the LWM survey, continuous data monitoring and cleaning, and the generation of detailed Village Action Plans with specific Drain End Point solutions for each village.

Step 1

Roll Out of Survey

After completing the training of enumerators, the state-wide roll-out of the LWM survey is initiated under the supervision of master trainers and district-level coordinators.

Each enumerator team is assigned specific villages to conduct the survey using the KoBoCollect App, following the standardized four-step process.

Regular field monitoring, progress tracking through dashboards, and coordination with Gram Panchayats ensure smooth implementation. The roll-out phase focuses on:

  • Comprehensive coverage of all selected villages
  • Timely data collection
  • Maintaining data quality to build a robust baseline for planning LWM interventions across the state
Step 2

Monitoring and Cleaning of Data

After the survey rollout, continuous monitoring and data cleaning are carried out to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the collected information.

Data entries from the KoBoCollect App are periodically reviewed through the central dashboard to identify:

  • Missing fields
  • Duplicate responses
  • Incorrect geo-tagging

Regular feedback is provided to enumerators and master trainers for correction of errors or re-verification of doubtful entries.

This iterative process of validation and cleaning ensures that the final dataset is reliable, standardized, and ready for analysis to support evidence-based planning and decision-making for LWM interventions.

Step 3

Generate Village Action Plan

After the completion of monitoring, cleaning, and rectification of survey data, a detailed Village Action Plan (VAP) is generated for each surveyed village.

The VAP consolidates all verified information and proposes specific Drain End Point (DEP) solutions based on site conditions and greywater flow data.

Each plan includes:

  • Design capacity of the recommended treatment or soakage structure
  • Type of structure (soak pit, leach pit, DEWATS, WSP, etc.)
  • Estimated cost ensuring technical feasibility and cost-effectiveness
  • Geo-locations and photographs of the proposed sites

This integration supports field verification and facilitates implementation by the concerned departments and Gram Panchayats.
